Well I did not think I would be writing so soon on my blog but seeing as my car has recently broke down I have decided to spend my free time writing here.
A little background on my vehicle, it is a 2001 Ford Explorer. It has been with me through thick and thin and has had very few problems in the many years I have owned it. It has survived horrible storms, crazy drivers and some very questionable icy roads. I have zero idea what is wrong with it but it is currently at the mechanic shop with and I am eagerly waiting a diagnosis.
It is worth mentioning I am in the market for a new vehicle, one with better gas mileage and hopefully this repair doesn’t cost me too much. I would hate to lose a lot of money when I eventually trade this in. I guess we can’t all get what we want but I guess it’s worth it to hope for the best.
Today did come with good news though, I think I am about to get a promotion at work, I am very excited and this is happening much sooner than I expected. It also comes with a slight pay raise which is going to be awesome.
If I do get this promotion I am so celebrating with a nice cigar and some fine whiskey. Just kidding guys, probably will stick to some nice hot cocoa and relax with a fun movie or television show. Speaking of hot cocoa, I was trying to find some better brands than my regular swiss miss and stumbled across this some very tasty brands that were a bit more costly but totally worth it in the end.
I also had to go shopping around to start making some more vegetarian friendly food seeing as one of my uncles recently had a heart attack. It made me decide to become a better eater and start choosing healthier options. I have found a cool website that had some really good vegetarian recipes, I first decided to try their vegetarian fajita recipe
and was quite impressed. Not as good as regular chicken fajitas but hey, who said these kinds of transitions were going to be easy!
Anyways, wish me luck with my explorer!
Well I ended up going to the premier of The End of the World last night. It was everything I had expected it to be and more. I have been a huge fan of these movies since seeing Shawn of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. I made sure I would be able to attend this third one.
The theater was also quite packed so I am sure it will do well at the box office. I secretly hope it does. The theater got a lot of laughs throughout the entire movie and some people even clapped at the end of it.
There isn’t much going on in the last couple weeks. Just paying pills and working at the M. I have been trying to find a better job but with such a competitive market here I am having no luck finding anything that would be considered a step up from where I am at.
I have decided to start slowly saving up for college so that I can start going back and finish a degree in the next couple years. I hope everything works out for the best. I have about 1500 dollars saved up and I think I can make it to 4000 by the end of the year.
If I do make it back to college I am going to major in sociology. It has always been an interest for me and I think I will really enjoy being able to help out the community with such a degree. I have been thinking of all the ways I can help better my community, it has me really excited!
Well it finally starting to get cold outside. This weekend is supposed to be very rainy and in the 50’s! I am completely shocked. I really thought it would maintain this warm weather pattern we have been seeing over he last few weeks. I won’t lie, the warm weather is my absolute favorite!
I have been pulling out some old blankets out of my space saving plastic bag things that hold all my winter blankets and will have to find good hot cocoa to keep me nice and warm through this cold weather. I might be over preparing but hey, I guess I have something to look forward to on Saturday after my shift ends.
I also am getting pretty pumped about that upcoming Matt Damon movie Elysium. At first I thought it looked a little dumb to be honest when I first saw the preview for it many months ago. Now that I have read up on some more on it and saw better previews and it has got me really excited. There are a few friends of mine that have invited me to go this Friday and I had to say YES!
There was an interesting video I saw on fox news today about 3 African Americans beating up one white kid on a school bus and I was shocked at the lack of response from all the activists. I figured had there been a reverse of who was beating who we would have seen completely as a hate crime. Something is terribly wrong with the way our country throws around the race card and I feel it needs to stop. If you have seen the graphic video you will know what I mean when these young men beat this other young man very severely and broke his arm and left him with two black eyes. I saw hay makers being thrown, they were also stomping him.
I hope some day we as a country overcome these incredibly stupid problems.
I guess that is all for today. Once again, thanks for reading.
Well, like all other Sunday’s I find myself quite bored. I didn’t do too much this weekend. I saw the new movie 2 Guns with some friends. It was entertaining and provided some much needed relax time.
I also played some video games online, mostly black ops 2 and a couple games of league of legends. I always love being able to play some games online and relieve some stress, although lets be honest, online games come with the problem of a lot of “ragers” which can really upset some of the players. So I suppose I should say it only sometimes relieves my stress ha-ha. Something I don’t do too often but it is sure great when I get the opportunity.
I do have some things worth talking about though, mainly about cell phone use and driving. When I say cell phone use I mean both texting and talking. I saw some lady today almost get in a wreck TWICE while using her cell phone. I was heading home from the grocery store and she was blabbering away like a gossipy high school girl and almost hit a pedestrian, about 15 seconds later she had to slam on the breaks to avoid hitting the car in front of her. It is truly outrageous to see some peoples actions, especially while driving.
It reminded me of what I read earlier in the news today about how that train driver in Spain was on the phone, speeding and caused that horrendous and tragic crash. He even ignored speed warnings sent to him in the driver cabin. I am one hundred percent disgusted at some peoples behaviors. The article I read was on CNN for those who don’t believe me or want to read for themselves.
I pray for all the familys and people that are suffering from this mans actions and failure to slow down.
Hey everyone, starting this blog up as a kind of online journal. My friend Linda said it had been a really good stress reliever for her to vent her feelings through a blog. I have been to the doctor and was told I have bad blood pressure and I have been under a lot of stress lately. I have been trying to figure out what to do to lower it. So today I decided to start talking about my day to day activities and my current minor problems in hopes of eliminating my stress.
Since it is currently most relevant to me on my day off is the weather. I have been roasting in my house. I have been sitting here sweating to detah with a fan on me. My AC unit has been on the fritz the last week and struggles to pump out any cold air. It keeps shorting out as well, these units are so darn cheap. I have decided to save up for a couple paychecks and purchase one in the next month or so if the weather maintains this constant brutal heat.
I have also been getting excited to see this upcoming movie called the Wolverine. When I was a kid I would read tons of comics and it has been nice to see a lot of these comic book movies come out. Lucky for me Wolverine is my favorite X-Men character. It will be very interesting to see how this movie is.
Another thing that I am looking forward to is winter. I love the winter season so much. I find the snow fall to be incredibly peaceful. Nothing is better than waking up at 6 am and seeing a slow snowfall landing on an untouched plain of powdery snow. I love to snowmobile so I get super pumped at the sight of fresh powder snow.
I will be attempting to go to a natural food market today and start trying some healthier food options, seeing as my blood pressure is a high. I believe this will be a great start to lowering it without having to resort to a lot of meds. Eating healthy and regular exercise will hopefully allow me to gain control. I wish the best of luck to everyone, thanks for reading.
